About the Author

Wellness, Safe Schools, Parent Coach, Psychotherapist and Author, Lisa is a wife, mother, and mother-in-law. She graduated with a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Toronto in 1993, and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Culture, Language & Learning from York University in 2013. Highly awarded scholar, ethnographer, and keynote speaker, Dr. Romano-Dwyer has presented theory, research, and practice ideas at national and international levels. Lisa led several community and program-based research and evaluation projects using mixed qualitative and quantitate methods. Her research career was sponsored by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC); the Vanier Canada Graduate Award Scholarship; the Michael Smith Foreign Study Abroad Study Award;  the Knowledge Network for Applied Research Award in Ontario; the John Haddad Master of Social Work Award; and the Terry Fox Humanitarian Undergraduate Award Scholarship. As a registered social worker in Ontario, Lisa offers full-fee psychotherapy services to individuals, families, and groups where offers a creative blend of strength-based solution-focused compassionate mind training that engages the imaginations in healing. Owner of Hypersense Counselling and Consulting Services in Toronto, Lisa offers barrier-free services to people. Lisa collaborates with health care practitioners, early education resource centers, boards of education, family law services, and not-for-profit organizations. Lisa is a prolific writer who is currently publishing practice guides, and workbook resources for clinical use with children and adolescents.
